What Rockland Trust receives

The Rockland Trust file BankFileKit makes from a sample QuickBooks report with fake checks. You see this proof for your own file before anything leaves your browser.

Compare these totals with your QuickBooks report.

  1. Line 1. One check per line: check number, amount, issue date and payee, in this order. Voided checks aren't sent in this layout.

  2. Line 2. A payee name with a comma goes in double quotes, so the bank reads it as one name.

How to send it to Rockland Trust

  1. Rockland Trust sets up the file mapping for you when Positive Pay starts. Tell Rockland Treasury Operations you'll send a CSV file with no header row: Column A check number, B amount, C issue date (MMDDYY) and D payee name.
  2. Download the free test file from BankFileKit and send it to Rockland as your sample. Rockland's guide says any later change to the file map needs new testing.
  3. Once Rockland confirms the mapping, upload each file in Positive Pay before you release the checks.

Good to know

  • Column order follows Rockland's guide: check number, amount and issue date in columns A to C, then the payee name. No header row or totals.
  • Rockland's file has no void column, so voided checks are left out of the file. Contact Rockland Trust to void them.
  • Dates are six digits, MMDDYY, as Rockland's guide asks.
  • The payee name is optional for Rockland, and needed only if you use Payee Match.

Where Rockland Trust's guide doesn't say

BankFileKit fills these in with safe defaults. Your test file confirms them with Rockland Trust before you send a live file.

  • BankFileKit default: A payee name is put in double quotes only when it has a comma, the way Excel saves a CSV file (decided 10/29/2026). Rockland's guide doesn't say how commas are handled.
  • BankFileKit default: The account number column is left out. Rockland lists it as optional.
  • BankFileKit default: Check numbers up to 15 digits and amounts up to $99,999,999.99. Rockland's guide doesn't publish limits.
  • BankFileKit default: Line endings: Windows (CRLF). Text: plain ASCII.

Note: Send a test file to Rockland Trust first

Before your first live file, download the free test file with your first 3 checks, send it to Rockland Trust, and confirm it was accepted. BankFileKit can't guarantee that Rockland Trust will accept a file.
