4 checks$23,187.861 void

Compare these totals with your QuickBooks report.

  1. Line 1. One check per line: payee, check number, amount, issue date and issue/void code, in this order.

  2. Line 3. A voided check, marked V, with its original amount. QuickBooks shows voids as $0.00, so BankFileKit asks you for the original amount.

Good to know

  • This is Union Bank & Trust in Nebraska, at ubt.com.
  • Union Bank & Trust lets you map your own file. This layout follows the column order in UBT's mapping example: payee, check number, amount and issue date, plus a record type with I for issued and V for void.
  • Amounts have no decimal point, so $1,688.12 is written 168812. UBT's guide asks you to check Insert Decimal Point for .txt files.
  • You choose the account when you upload, so each file is for one account.
  • If you use Payee Match, the payee name must match the printed check exactly, including titles like Mr. and symbols like &.

Where Union Bank & Trust's guide doesn't say

BankFileKit fills these in with safe defaults. Your test file confirms them with Union Bank & Trust before you send a live file.

  • BankFileKit default: The issue date is in the file (decided 10/29/2026). UBT's guide lists File Does Not Contain Issued Date as a required setting, but its own mapping example maps a date column.
  • BankFileKit default: Tab between fields in a .txt file (decided 10/29/2026). UBT's guide says commas in payee names cause errors when a file is mapped as .csv.
  • BankFileKit default: I and V codes in the record type column. UBT's mapping screen has Record Type, Issued Item Code and Void Item Code, but its guide doesn't say which codes to use.
  • BankFileKit default: Dates like 10/1/2026 (month and day without leading zeros), as in UBT's mapping example.
  • BankFileKit default: Voided checks carry the original check amount.
  • BankFileKit default: Check numbers up to 15 digits and amounts up to $99,999,999.99. No limit on payee name length. UBT's guide doesn't publish limits.
  • BankFileKit default: Line endings: Windows (CRLF). Text: plain ASCII.
